HNTB Water Resource / Land Development Project Engineer in Allentown, Pennsylvania

We are looking for a creative and technically sound engineer who is ready to be challenged and work as a task lead. The successful candidate will work on land development and water resource portions of projects related to transit-oriented site development, bridge replacements, highway corridors, and rail corridors. As a task lead, the engineer will coordinate efforts of a design team within the water resources discipline to deliver HNTB’s 4for4: quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction on every project. They will serve as a technical liaison for clients such as PennDOT, SEPTA, Pennsylvania Turnpike and Amtrak.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence the to the schedule and budget on projects.
Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or
PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
What You'll Bring:
Responsible for the delivery of reports, plans, specifications, estimates, calculations, and designs for water resource and land development portions of transportation projects including: Post-construction stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, open and closed drainage designs, and Chapter 102 NPDES and Chapter 105 waterway permits.
Leads team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design within budget and schedule
Collaborates with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Understands the impacts of decisions on technical design and work planning.
Coordinates work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
Prepares high quality deliverables that are on time, and within budget and scope.
What We Prefer:
Master’s degree in Engineering
8 years relevant experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certification
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline)
Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, InRoads Storm and Sanitary, HEC-RAS, Pondpack and/or HydroCAD
Experience with PennDOT, SEPTA, Amtrak or land development projects
