HNTB Aviation Planning Project Manager - Landside/GT in Arlington, Virginia

What We're Looking For

HNTB is looking to add an aviation planning project manager specializing in airport landside, ground transportation, and multi-modal access planning to our growing aviation team. The successful candidate will lead wide-ranging airport landside planning studies at large- and medium-hubs across the United States. This client-facing role will require relationship-building with HNTB's key existing and targeted clients and extensive staff development.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Managing complex airport landside planning projects

  • Doer/seller that can continue to build HNTB's client base

  • Developing and growing HNTB staff to support projects

  • Serve as a technical expert on emerging trends in aviation-related topics

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • PE, RLA, RA, AICP or CEP certification

  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Architecture, or related field

  • Extensive airport landside planning experience

  • Experience with landside simulation

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination of administrative aspects of the project to ensure that projects assigned are completed within the schedule and budget and to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Serves as primary point-of-contact with client and other project consultants.

  • Estimates fees, determines work scope and prepares proposals and contracts for small-scale projects.

  • Coordinates with and involves project designers and project technical staff.

  • Manages client budget, schedule and program and HNTB budget and schedule.

  • Manages project communications and documentation.

  • Reviews work of other project team members for accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinates and communicates regularly with group director and office leader on progress of projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, Architecture or related field

  • 6 years related experience

  • 4 years related experience (with Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, Architecture or related field)
