HNTB Human Resources Manager in Arlington, Virginia

What We're Looking For

As an HR partner to select client groups, provide general expertise to the business in all areas of Human Resources. In conjunction with HR centers of expertise implement, interpret, administer and educate on HR programs, policies or practices that support business objectives and solve business problems. Consult with the business on organizational changes or restructuring. Support talent management, succession planning and development efforts. Lead investigations and ensure timely and fair resolution of employee relations issues or concerns.

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develops positive working relationships and business partnerships in the designated client groups and throughout the company.

  • In conjunction with HR centers of expertise, implements, administers and educates on HR programs, policies or practices that support business objectives and solve business problems.

  • Conducts employee relations investigations, including developing solutions that result in a fair and timely resolution.

  • Partners with client groups to assess talent and to develop and implement a succession plan utilizing the Firm’s talent review processes.

  • As part of the overall talent management effort, partners with leadership to identify employee development and training needs, creating and implementing a plan to address those needs.

  • Works with the business to plan and implements staffing needs, partnering with recruiters to drive selection and hire of key positions in assigned client groups.

  • Works with leadership to develop and implement strategies that drive higher employee engagement and retention, resulting in reduced turnover.

  • Leads merit process for assigned client groups.

  • Effectively manages and delivers projects as assigned.

  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations by understanding and staying current with state and national laws.

  • Objectively analyzes current practices, identifies improvement opportunities, builds consensus and assists with the implementation of related changes.

  • Working with HRIS, compiles HR metrics to support management discussions and decisions.

  • Performs other duites as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related area

  • 7 years experience

  • Must have the ability to travel up to 30% of the time
