HNTB Senior Project Manager - Engineering in Arlington, Virginia

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a person who will be responsible for the leadership and management of team in support of the project’s profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the projects technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. Responsible for gross revenue of $10M-30M.

Talented civil engineer (PE) and hands on leader to manage high profile federal and transportation land development projects of national significance. Focus is site development design with a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Experience:

  • Leading teams to deliver complex projects with multiple stakeholders (minimum 10 years)

  • Collaborating with other offices and consultants across the country

  • Leading and coordinating the review of work by less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project

  • Providing leadership for major phases of large land/site development related projects.

  • Working knowledge of pre-design, building design, contract administration, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building

Goals:

  • Manage the delivery of current nationally significant projects

  • Participate in the continued growth of our site development group

  • Pursue and win world-class transformative projects that leave long term positive impacts on our country

  • Work with office leadership to develop and implement strategic planning, business development, and client/business development

  • Identify new opportunities and work with other HNTB practices to support site development for significant infrastructure projects

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.

  • Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.

  • Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers. Coordinates work efforts and review work performed. Schedules and manages for integration of quality management during all phases of a project.

  • Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • 16 years relevant experience

  • 6 years project management experience
