The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB is currently seeking a Sr. Public Involvement Representative in our Savannah , GA location.

Job Summary

Coordinates and implements public involvement programs for clients to facilitate communication and acceptance of projects and initiatives.

Essential Responsibility

  • Assists in research projects relative to planning-related engagement and communication activities such as transportation studies and environmental impact evaluations.

  • Prepares and coordinates dissemination of community relations materials, facts and information about client activities to external agencies, associations, and news organizations using print, periodicals, radio and/or visual communication media.

  • Completes routine records and reports related to public involvement meetings and public hearings.

  • Helps coordinate community meetings including scheduling, determining location, and ensuring proper setup and materials are present.

  • May interact with clients to coordinate implementation of communication programs.

  • Drafts speeches, create and design presentation materials, and/or compose correspondence for use in mailings and/or meetings.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Implements communications strategies to help gain project acceptance from the public and project stakeholders

  • Manages day-to-day operations of communications activities for transportation projects

  • Directs the development and use of presentation materials, correspondence, graphics, public/community relations materials, collateral, website copy, articles, etc.

  • Implements quality control/quality assurance procedures to ensure a high quality of work

  • Develops project-specific messaging consistent with overall program and client brand

  • Writes and/or proofreads project-related materials

  • Manages contact and stakeholder databases

Basic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field

4 years related experience

Preferred Qualification/Skills

  • 6 years of related experience

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills for published pieces including, but not limited to newsletters, fact sheets, brochures, articles, blogs, press releases, speeches, reports, website copy, and social media content

  • Experience coordinating, collaborating, and meeting with clients

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organization and planning skills

  • Ability to work well within a team setting and independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint

  • Experience managing and executing communications, marketing, and outreach activities in the infrastructure and transportation sector

General Work Conditions

Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
