HNTB Traffic Engineer - II in Boston, Massachusetts

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will work as a team member of the Traffic Engineering group and assist on projects of varying sizes ranging from isolated traffic signal improvement projects to implementing complete streets on urban and rural corridors to interstate and interchange reconstructions. The Traffic Engineer will work on multi-discipline projects under the direct supervision of senior staff.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Preparation of technical reports and graphics

  • Data collection and field observations

  • Traffic analysis and simulation of traffic operations

  • Traffic safety analysis and road safety audits

  • Traffic signal and pavement marking & signage design

  • Design of temporary traffic control plans

  • Preparation of plans and cost estimates

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (traffic/highway/transportation), Master's degree is a plus

  • 3-5 years relevant experience

  • EIT

  • Experience in HCS and Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM experience is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus

  • Experience in GIS is a plus

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects.

  • Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 2 years relevant experience
