HNTB Section Manager in Chicago, Illinois

What We're Looking For

Provides both technical and administrative supervision to the section so as to ensure that technical, administrative, direct labor, and schedule targets of the section are met in accordance with applicable professional standards, design control procedures, company procedures, and technical design guides. Section revenue normally does not exceed $1.5 million per year.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Project Engineering Structural tasks and inter discipline coordination (IL SE or ability to obtain it within 6 months required)

  • Managing and mentoring 4-5 younger staff

  • Structural Project management

  • Recruiting

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master's degree in Engineering

  • Complex bridge, including major river bridge design experience

  • Rail Bridge design and project management experience

  • SE/PE

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates activities of engineering section.

  • Assigns priorities and staff to jobs.

  • Coordinates time and budget on jobs.

  • Maintains client contacts to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Ensures quality control are maintained on project(s).

  • Typically manages up to 15 employees.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 11 years relevant experience

  • 2 years supervisory experience
