HNTB Sr. Project Engineer - Transportation in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB! We are looking for an experienced and technically sound engineer who is ready to be challenged on projects that could consist of corridor improvements, bridge replacements, interstate widening, and transit-oriented site development, depending upon the candidate’s preference. The engineer will coordinate efforts of a design team to deliver quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. They will serve as a technical liaison for clients such as PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA, Amtrak, and DRPA. We offer a flexible work schedule and the position could be located in any of our Pennsylvania offices or virtually.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Experience preparing reports, plans, calculations, estimates and designs for transportation projects. Examples include: Basis of Design, Line and Grade, Safety Review, Design Field View, Right of Way, Traffic Control, Signing & Pavement Marking, Cross Sections, Final Design plans and specifications
Serves as a task lead as part of a large project team
Coordinates efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design within budget and on schedule
Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments
Assist with project management duties
Mentor less experienced engineers on technical designs
Serves as technical liaison with client at staff level for work within the discipline
Collaborates closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Experience with MicroStation
Ability to travel to HNTB office, client office or project sites in Pennsylvania
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
12 years of experience with roadway designs
Professional Engineer Certification
Master's degree in Engineering
Experience with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA, Amtrak or land development projects
Inroads or OpenRoads experience
What You'll Need
Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work. Supervises and guides team to overall project objectives.
Provides senior-level technical expertise to client on project aspects within the discipline.
Assists with project management duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
10 years relevant experience
