HNTB Sr Project Engineer - Transportation in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

What We're Looking For

The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking someone that will provide coordination of project execution and control, in a given discipline area, to achieve continuity of purpose within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through project closeout. Also accountable for handling specific design aspects on projects appropriate to discipline field. Coordinates efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort. Serves as technical liaison with client on project efforts. Responsible for gross revenue of $1-$2M.

Additional Responsibilities:

Responsible for the preparation and delivery of reports, plans and designs for transportation projects including but not limited to: Basis of Design, Line and Grade, Safety Review, Design Field View, Right of Way, Traffic Control, Signing & Pavement Marking, Cross Sections, Final Design plans and specifications.

  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

  • Provide technical expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering design, and preparation of contract documents

  • Responsible for ensuring completeness and accuracy of work prepared by a design team

  • Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments

  • Assist with project management duties

  • Deliver project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule

  • Ability to collaborate internally with project team and externally with clients and stakeholder groups

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering

  • Professional Engineer Certification

  • Experience with Microstation/AutoCAD

  • Strong background and technical proficiency in transportation engineering

  • Experience in task lead role as part of a large project team

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA and Amtrak

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.

  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work. Supervises and guides team to overall project objectives.

  • Provides senior-level technical expertise to client on project aspects within the discipline.

  • Assists with project management duties.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 10 years relevant experience
