HNTB Transportation Engineer III in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
What We're Looking For
The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking someone who has successfully worked in the Transportation industry, is fully competent to complete engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery with minimal direction. On tasks basis, is responsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering efforts that are responsive to project needs. Coordinates preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs
Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications
Perform quantity estimates, detailing and check calculations and drawings
Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments
Prepare vertical and horizontal alignments with modeling software
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Perform engineering studies to support transportation design including but not limited to traffic, safety and drainage
Preferred Qualifications
Experience preparing reports, plans and designs for transportation projects including but not limited to: Basis of Design, Line and Grade, Safety Review, Design Field View, Right of Way, Traffic Control, Signing & Pavement Marking, Cross Sections, Final Design plans and specifications.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years of experience with roadway designs required
Master's degree in Engineering preferred
Professional Engineer Certification
Experience with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA and Amtrak
Land Development Experience
Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with MicroStation
Surface modeling Experience with Inroads
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What You'll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans.
Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates. Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Works closely with other disciplines and multi-discipline projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
5 years relevant experience
