The time is right to join HNTB! We have a job opening for a Water Resources Engineer III i n our Indianapolis, Indiana office.
For more than 60 years, the HNTB Indianapolis office has planned, designed, and delivered some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Indiana and around the country. Our 100+ local employees are surrounded by a vast network of more than 3,000 employees in our other offices. The Indianapolis office is the Firm’s leader in drinking and wastewater services.
Within a given discipline, is fully competent to complete engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery with minimal direction. On tasks basis, is responsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering efforts that are responsive to project needs. Coordinates preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.
Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans.
Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates. Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Works closely with other disciplines and multi-discipline projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Conducts design and constructibility reviews of plans
Assists Senior Engineers and Project Managers with preparation of weekly and monthly program updates and reporting
Assists Senior Engineers and Project Managers with management of design review process and permitting through outside agencies
Updates and maintains master schedule for the program
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
5 years relevant experience
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related area and 5 years of related experience in water resources required
Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related area
PE in Indiana
Experience with projects in Indiana
Experience with INDOT, Citizens Energy Group or Indianapolis DPW projects
Experience in stormwater, drainage and sanitary sewer projects
General Work Conditions
Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client’s job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
