HNTB Department Manager - Construction in Kansas City, Missouri

What We're Looking For

Responsible for direction, supervision and growth of construction inspection staff in Kansas City, which currently consists of 5-10 employees. Directs project priorities, staff recruitment, staffing schedules and staffing assignments to ensure clients are provided the best capabilities to meet their needs. Responsible for overall management direction of major construction projects through assigned field staff. Accountability includes timely and satisfactory completion of construction projects, assuring satisfactory client service, key field position staffing, project plans, objectives setting, performance evaluation, and related management activities.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Management of key construction project within the Kansas City area working with a variety of clients.

  • Management and development of HNTB Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) staff.

  • Grow Kansas/Missouri CEI team by developing relationships with clients.

  • Develop client and project pursuit strategies.

  • Train, develop and grow existing staff.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • PE

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Quality control and basic policies and parameters of CEI projects.

  • Assists in resolution of construction issues.

  • Maintains existing client relationships and develops new business.

  • Represents HNTB with client, public, and regulatory agencies.

  • Trains and develops staff.

  • Responsible for cost control and financial performance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 15 years related experience
