HNTB Highway Transportation Engineer III in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a creative and technically sound engineer who is ready to be challenged on a variety of projects, including corridor improvements, bridge replacements, interstate widening, transit-oriented site development and multimodal projects. The engineer will assist the design team to deliver quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. We have projects with notable clients such as PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA, Amtrak, and DRPA.

The position could be located in either our Allentown, Harrisburg, King of Prussia or Philadelphia offices.

Primary focus will include:

  • Experience preparing reports, plans, calculations, estimates and designs for transportation projects such as:

  • Basis of Design

  • Line and Grade

  • Safety Review

  • Design Field View

  • Right of Way

  • Traffic Control

  • Signing & Pavement Marking

  • Cross Section

  • Final Design plans and specifications.

  • Performs under the supervision of a senior engineer with the opportunity to provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.

  • Serves as technical liaison with client at staff level for work within the discipline.

  • Collaborates closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience with roadway designs

  • Master's degree in Engineering

  • Professional Engineer Certification

  • Experience with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, SEPTA, Amtrak or land development projects

  • Experience with MicroStation

  • Surface modeling Experience with Inroads


What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans.

  • Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates. Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

  • Works closely with other disciplines and multi-discipline projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 5 years relevant experience
