The time is right to join HNTB! We are a seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing Transportation Group in the Las Vegas Area. This position will be responsible for the leadership and management of a team in support of the project’s profitable operation. They will also be responsible for proactively managing the project's technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project.
This opportunity entails being responsible managing assigned project(s) throughout their full lifecycle including developing the scope and technical sections of proposal and procurement documents to participating in contract negotiations and overseeing the delivery of the project plan to successfully accomplish HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. This position proactively manages the budget, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications in support of the project’s objectives. Provides high level technical tasks while managing and reviewing design related specifications, calculations, reports and plans. Coordinates with internal and external partners including cross-discipline and functional teams to address and problem solve design related issues or concerns. The Project Manager II – Engineering typically manages multi-disciplinary project team(s) for one or more strategic (<$1M) or mini-mega ($1M to <$5M) projects, or may lead and/or work as a discipline lead on a mega ($5M to < $25M) project management team.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA). Leads or actively participates in client contract scoping and negotiations.
Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Leads client contract scoping and negotiations.
Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.
Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Responsible for/oversees project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mini-mega and mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads proposal development and interview presentations for strategic, mini-mega, and mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community.
May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development and retention of staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience
2 years of successful management of engineering projects
What You'll Bring:
Develop and nurture existing key client relationships and serve as one of the primary company contacts on multiple medium to large size transportation/civil projects with an emphasis on infrastructure, systems, and project management.
Actively manage client’s budget, schedule, and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation.
Serve as a technical resource leading a team providing transit engineering, design, and management services for clients.
Coordinate work efforts: ensure work products and designs meet project requirements and client needs.
Guide and nurture junior engineers to become leaders in the field.
Effectively manage a project team including sub-consultants with varying disciplines.
Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts on projects.
Identify and market additional business opportunities with key clients.
What We Prefer:
12 years of relevant experience
4 years Project Management experience
PE license preferred.
Strong leadership and organization skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working on medium to large transportation/civil engineering projects.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
Experience with NDOT, Clark County, RTCSNV, and local

The approximate pay range for Nevada is $146,029.73 - $233,268.28. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
