HNTB Inspector II in Madison, Wisconsin
What We're Looking For
Our Madison, WI office seeks an Inspector II to join our growing Transportation Construction Engineering team.
Primary Focus will Include:
Construction inspection and materials testing on large highway and bridge construction projects in the Madison area and throughout southwest Wisconsin
Collaborating with the Transportation Construction Services team and project stakeholders to perform on-site inspection, documentation, and materials verification
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
5+ years of construction inspection and/or materials testing experience
Experience working on WisDOT transportation construction projects
Associates degree (or higher) in construction management or civil engineering
Essential Responsibilities:
Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience.
All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
