HNTB Project Manager II in Miami, Florida
What We're Looking For
Responsible for the leadership and management of team in support of the project’s profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the project's technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. Responsible for gross revenue of $5M-$10M.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Serves as a GEC Project Manager ensuring scope, schedule and budget requirements are achieved.
Manages other PD&E, design consultants and HNTB staff.
Provides support to the client’s staff on numerous types of Planning, PD&E, design, and construction projects related primarily to capacity improvement projects, renewal & replacement projects, and toll facilities.
Responsible for the direction of technical discipline staff.
Collaborates with client management in planning, production, construction, tolls, maintenance and operations and major program/project stakeholders.
Projects typically involve high levels of agency involvement or complex technical requirements.
Typical projects may become construction management engagements, significant design-build, or design-bid-build undertakings, major and unique structures.
Perform the basic project functions of PD&E and design production coordination, planning, scheduling, organizing, directing, controlling, and financial management.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge of NEPA process and procedures.
Knowledge of FDOT policies, procedures, and standards is preferred.
Proven collaborative leadership with effective negotiation, interpersonal and partnering skills.
Strong written, oral, and listening communication skills in English; good public speaking ability.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; organizational and time management skills.
Strong project financial and schedule management skills.
Experience with limited access projects.
Experience with toll facility projects is a plus.
General Engineering Consultant (GEC) experience is a plus.
Design-Build experience is also a plus.
PE in the State of Florida or ability to obtain within three months
Proficient in Microsoft personal computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and other project management / production support systems.
What You'll Need
Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA). Leads or actively participates in client contract scoping and negotiations.
Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Leads client contract scoping and negotiations.
Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.
Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Responsible for/oversees project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mini-mega and mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads proposal development and interview presentations for strategic, mini-mega, and mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community.
May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development and retention of staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience
2 years of successful management of engineering projects
