HNTB Water Resources Project Engineer in New Orleans, Louisiana
What We're Looking For
Our Baton Rouge and New Orleans, LA offices are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) to fill a new position on our growing Civil Works team who is fully competent to provide coordination of project execution and control in the Civil Engineering discipline, to achieve continuity of purpose within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through project closeout. Also accountable for handling specific design aspects on projects appropriate to the Civil Engineering discipline. Coordinates efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort. Serves as technical liaison with client on project efforts. Responsible for gross revenue of <$1M.
Primary Focus Will Include:
H&H Modeling and Civil Works Design;
Perform basic and complex engineering calculations;
Computer model development and analysis;
Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates;
Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling, storm water management design, and flood control analyses;
Experience with FEMA CLOMR and LOMR application processes.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana or the ability to obtain a Louisiana PE within 6 months;
Proficiency with MicrosStation and InRoads;
Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and SWMM;
Proficiency with ArcGIS;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
What You'll Need
Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work. Guides team to overall project objectives.
Serves as technical liaison with client at staff level for work within the discipline.
Assists with project management duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
