HNTB Marketing Team Leader in New York, New York

HNTB-New York has a 100-year history leading the way in delivering infrastructure solutions to the State of New York in transportation, bridges, aviation, architecture, urban design, security and construction services. Our 400 multidisciplinary professionals throughout New York State have delivered some of the most complex, challenging and award-winning infrastructure projects that have shaped the skyline and transportation network of New York City and surrounding communities, such as the Tappan Zee Bridge (Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge) and Jamaica Station Improvements.

Located in the iconic Empire State Building and just steps from various subway, commuter rail and bus stations, HNTB’s New York City Office is a collaborative group of professionals who value both client development and professional development. The office has several committees for areas in which we are most passionate about, such as the Women's Networking Group. In addition, the SPAN (Sparking People, Activities and Networking) committee offers special events, such as happy hours, family outings and community fundraisers.

Our growing marketing team is a creative and collaborative group of professionals specializing in proposal and presentation development, content writing and graphic design. We are integrated members of HNTB’s Northeast Division and support a variety of exciting projects and initiatives.

We are seeking a Marketing Team Leader to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for writing and leading proposal and interview preparation for large/complex pursuits. Collaborates with pursuit teams in developing win strategies. Will also oversee the work of other marketing team members.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Managing positioning, proposal and interview efforts for large, complex pursuits.

  • Overseeing the day-to-day activities of a team of coordinators and graphic designers.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Mentoring experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possesses a strategic mindset and sound judgment.

  • Ability to build trust and influence others

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, and other communications-related software programs

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading team members and assigning daily assignments. Writes and leads qualification packages, proposals and leave behind material pursuits. Collaborates with technical staff and writes, reviews, edits original content for clarity, compliance and key messages.

  • Works with pursuit teams to develop pursuit strategies, including providing business intelligence on clients, competitors and HNTB.

  • Organizes and facilitates pursuit strategy meetings.

  • Supports client service teams by preparing materials for internal and external meetings, as well as participating in client service team meetings.

  • Leads training and education for new hires, continued education and newly identified tools.

  • Provides input on recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including developing a plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.

  • Responsible for coordinating schedules and approving timecards.

  • Aids in establishing employees’ objectives and provides feedback from clients while coaching and mentoring their team.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business or related degree

  • 6 year's relevant experience

  • In lieu of degree 10 years of relevant experience
