HNTB Senior Graphic Designer in New York, New York

What We're Looking For

Creates templates and all required graphics for complex and/or mega proposals, interviews and in-house materials. Creates the design and layout, and coordinates production of various materials, including printed brochures, flyers, boards, etc., as well as some multi-media designs to create an image, communicate concepts, or deliver a message in the most effective way. May oversee the work of less experienced staff members.

HNTB has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Graphic Designer in our New York City office location working on infrastructure and transportation projects. Ideal candidate should be proficient in brand / image development and possess the skills and creativity to create compelling design within an existing brand style guide.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Design and layout various materials including proposals, brochures, ads, report covers and other printed collateral.

  • Create detailed charts, graphs and infographics illustrating complex concepts and strategies working with industry leaders in transportation.

  • Develop strategies and visual presentations in collaboration with marketing and technical staff.

  • Develop materials for interviewing with the client, such as presentation boards, PowerPoint/Keynote presentations, various booklets, brochures and other promotional material.

  • Prepare print ready files and coordinate production of proposals and other collateral.

  • Develop project logos, icons, and other graphic elements.

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design and preparation of templates and graphics for complex and or/mega proposals and presentations. May help determine the specifications, themes, ideas, concepts and methods to be used in producing graphic and pictorial presentations for materials. Works with pursuit teams to understand their needs and to develop direction, concept and specifications for assigned projects.

  • Coordinates graphic photo library and maintains electronic records.

  • Performs miscellaneous job functions such as photo/document scanning and electronic document creation.

  • Works with team leader to determine workload distribution and determine the need to bring in additional resources.

  • Determines if in-house documents are best distributed in print or electronic format and gets final approval from project manager.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Art, Graphic Design, or related area

  • 5 years art/graphic designer experience

  • In lieu of education, 9 years art/graphic designer experience
