HNTB Sr. Facilities Electrical Engineer in Oakland, California
What We're Looking For
Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive power and lighting design experience, engineering analysis skills related to electrical infrastructure, commercial and institutional facilities and additional experience related to communications network design. Responsible for preparation and completion of electrical engineering efforts in cooperation with multi-disciplinary team. Coordinates preparation of design details, calculations, and drawings for electrical designs.
Primary Focus Includes:
Develop basis of design report for electrical components
Perform load flow analysis for power distribution systems
Perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls
Design electrical systems including power, lighting, control and fire alarm systems
Design fiber optic cable and wireless Ethernet based communications networks to support ETS and ITS deployments.
Prepare single line diagrams and drawing details for electrical design
Select electrical equipment and luminaires for projects
Support project construction phase including RFI and Submittal reviews
Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans.
Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates. Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Electrical infrastructure for transportation facilities and EV charging stations
Electronic Toll Systems (ETS) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Sr. Electrical Engineer
Experience completing PS&E construction packages
Power distribution system design
Facilities lighting design
Responsible for preparation and completion of electrical engineering designs that are responsive to project needs
Lead technical communication with client for electrical design components
Review and monitor design quality of work performed by others
Helps supervise, schedule and check work of project team members
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Familiarity with IEEE standards and FHWA Systems Engineering guidelines
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
PE in the State of California
Experience with e-TAP, AGI32 or related software
AutoCAD MEP experience
What You'll Need
Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work. Supervises and guides team to overall project objectives.
Provides senior-level technical expertise to client on project aspects within the discipline.
Assists with project management duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
