The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB is currently seeking a Sr. Microsoft Dynamics AX Developer to join our IT team in Kansas City, Dallas or Chicago.

Job Summary

Provides expertise in development languages and troubleshooting skills. Leads communities of practices and enforces technical standards including code, tools and platforms. Acts as an expert resource and works independently to choose methods for work completion, only seeking guidance in the most complex situations.

Essential Responsibility

  • Works on complex projects with broad impact to the business including development and/or configuration of software that requires a specialized depth or breadth of expertise.

  • Consults on the most complex support calls, requiring the independent evaluation of variable factors to resolve issues.

  • Designs complex system specs and documents application/data designs.

  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices/solutions.

  • Leads code reviews on high profile projects.

  • Mentors Level I, II and III developers and participates in cross training.

  • Develops and reviews SOPs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

o Core AX Modules Packages include: Project Management and Accounting, Financial Management, Human Capital Management

o Work closely with Front End Developers, Business Analyst, and Project Managers

o Ability to gather requirements related to documenting and mapping current business process needs

o Design, create, and support AX process and interfaces for critical business systems

o Ability to create Technical Design Documents (TDD)

o Participate in and contribute to peer code reviews and design sessions

o Develop test plans and participating in code testing to ensure workability, completeness, and quality

o Solve problems efficiently

o Tune, troubleshoot issues, analyze query plans, run traces, and interpret logs

o Execute Performance testing when necessary

o Provide analysis of the implementation standards and recommendations on the usage of the standard features

Basic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

6 years application development experience

In lieu of education, 10 years application development experience

  • .Net/C#

  • T-SQL/SQL Query Manager

  • Javascript/jQuery

  • Team Foundation Server

  • Visual Studio

  • IIS

  • SDLC

Preferred Qualification/Skills

  • Dynamics AX 2012 R3

  • X++/MorphX


  • Development, troubleshooting, performance analysis of AX processes and interfaces

  • Proficiency with SQL Server

  • CRM experience

  • Team Foundation Server (TFS) experience

  • VPP (Visual Project Planning)

  • Performance testing experience

  • Knowledge of XML data

  • Experience with web -based development
