What We're Looking For
The Environmental Planning Director will continue to build our successful practice. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of winning work, successfully managing complex projects and supervising and mentoring a large interdisciplinary department.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Oversees the environmental components of projects for various types of clients/markets including municipal, transit, ports, highway, and aviation.
Maintains current and in-depth knowledge of applicable industry regulations, standards and practices for focus client markets.
Full managerial responsibility for all environmental aspects of projects including scope development, contract negotiations, cost control, staff management, quality control and cash management.
Accountable for implementing and overseeing a quality control program for all environmental department deliverables
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master’s Degree in Planning or relevant field
AICP, CEP or other similar professional registration desired
What You'll Need
Plans, organizes, develops and maintains programs for efficient, productive utilization of staff in providing 4for4 client service and performance – quality, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project.
Responsible for all environmental aspects of projects including scope development, contract negotiations, cost control, staff management, quality control and cash management. Actively manages project budget, schedule, project communications and documentation.
Works internally with multiple market sector leaders to secure and manage the profitable operation of multiple projects with a focus on mega projects.
Attracts and effectively develops experienced staff to maximize potential, enhance strong technical credentials and solid reputation to expand our existing environmental planning capabilities and markets.
Plans, directs and implements an aggressive marketing program focused on certain markets in in specific geographic areas for both new and existing clients.
Develops and enhances client relationships and serve as a primary contact.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Science, Planning or Engineering discipline
15 years of relevant experience in extensive business development and project management experience with various governmental agencies (cities, counties, authorities, MPOs, DOT, etc.).
15 years of relevant experience in Business development and hands on management of complex and multifaceted projects that followed the NEPA, SEQRA, CEQR and ulRUP process for various agencies. Must demonstrate experience in progressively responsible positions.
