HNTB Quality Specialist in San Jose, California

What We're Looking For

Reporting to the Quality Lead, assist in the development and implementation of a Program Quality Plan (PQP). As needed, provide recurring training to project team members on the PQP. Assist in the management and oversight of the team, including subconsultants.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Preparation and monitoring of quality plan.

  • Oversight of contractor quality program.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certifications/licenses: Preference given to American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications and completion of other quality management training.

  • Leadership abilities, ability to influence others

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Quality Manager in completing and managing the Client Deliverable Quality Matrix for the project. Proactively keeping the team aware of required quality check and review dates to assure compliance.

  • Assisting the PQM in performing Quality Assurance (QA) Reviews of project deliverables, as dictated by the Client Deliverable Quality Matrix.

  • Preparing for, conducting, and reporting on quality audits for compliance with the PQP (including subs), and the management of any resulting corrective/preventive action requests. This may include preparation and conducting of audits of other entities under contract to the client when contractually required.

  • Assisting the PQM in the development, collection and analysis of project quality performance metrics. Upon the request of the PQM, reporting on quality performance to the project team and potentially the client.

  • liaising with the project team to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities.

  • Assisting the PQM in the development of the PQP for the project (either Standard or Custom) based upon the HNTB QMS and any applicable client/project requirements, and providing recurring training on the PQP to project team members.

  • Other project quality management activities under the direction and oversight of the PQM.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management/Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related engineering or math/science degree.

  • 3 years of previous experience with quality management systems and involvement in a general oversight capacity, including training/answering team questions on quality plans, performing quality audits against project quality plans on similar projects. Previous experience in a direct quality management support capacity on Design-Build projects when necessary.
