HNTB Environmental Planner II in Shoreline, Washington
What We're Looking For
Develop plans and policies to meet with social economic, and physical needs of communities, including land use transportation planning, transit planning, environmental planning, development, public facilities, and parks and recreational facilities. Performs all aspects of planning assignments and may begin to focus expertise. Work emphasizes design and technical aspects of projects but may include limited task assignee duties and tasks associated with business development. May oversee the work of less experienced staff.
The initial project assignment will be co-located in the WSDOT Shoreline, WA project offices. Candidates must be flexible to work out of this office as well as the primary HNTB office located in Bellevue, WA.
Primary Focus Will Include:
NEPA/SEPA environmental review and documentation.
Regulatory environmental permitting requirements.
Completing environmental permit applications.
Tracking environmental commitments and preparing contracts for compliance.
Collaborating and coordinating with teams, stakeholders, tribes, and regulatory agencies.
May include place-based work in client's offices
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's Degree in Planning, Environmental Science or related field
2 years of related experience completing environmental review, permitting, and regulatory compliance related to transportation projects or a closely related field
LEED Accredited Professional
RLA, RA, PE registration or AICP, CEP certification
What You'll Need
Assists in directing small-scale planning projects and portions of larger projects from concept development through submission drawings.
Coordinates with sub-consultants and in-house personnel on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks. Some contact with clients.
Prepares technical plans and reports, written reports on small to medium sized planning projects, scopes of work, fee proposals and responses to Request for Proposals.
Final production of environmental documents, comprehensive plans and reports, graphics associated with public meetings, presentation drawings, reports, etc.
Conducts research and detailed analysis of data.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Environmental Science or relevant field
