HNTB Construction Management Intern Engineer - Spring 2021 in Washington, District Of Columbia

What We're Looking For

Our Washington, DC office is seeking Construction Management Intern Engineers for Spring 2021.

Relocation and housing are not provided for these positions.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Monitor work of contractor

  • Read and comprehend contract documents

  • Produce as-constructed sketches as required

  • Perform on-site material testing

  • Provide inspection work to monitor engineering plans and specifications

  • Perform mathematical calculations

  • Keep daily diaries of inspections

  • Documentation of contract cost and schedule impacts

  • Preparation of cost comparisons using Microsoft Excel

  • Support of project closeout processes

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completion of 2 years of post-secondary civil engineering program

  • Construction Management emphasis

  • Comfortable working on project site

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • Experience using AutoCAD

  • Previous internship/co-op experience

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assists engineer teams in various tasks and duties.

  • Assists Engineer with research, development and design of projects.

  • Assists Engineer with the preparation of engineering drawings and documents as assigned.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program
